Carl Perkins

Mr. Perkins has founded startup companies in artificial intelligence, semiconductors, computer peripherals and Internet software. He has been responsible for founding several companies which have excelled in applying high technology products to early markets maximizing the odds of developing high growth startup companies. Mr. Perkins has a broad range of experience in chip to hardware to software technologies as well as management capabilities to compliment this in depth knowledge.  

Mr. Perkins' most recently founded and was CEO of Digital Media Works (NASDAQ - DGLV), a video marketing company. Prior to this he founded iHook.com, a hierarchical commerce system that he sold to OhGolly.com in 1999. He founded iHomeRoom.com, which provides portals for K-12 schools. In 1992 he founded New Media Corporation, which created many of the world’s first PCMCIA products and in three years grew from zero to $47M in sales. Prior to his position at New Media, Mr. Perkins was General Manager, NewGen Systems Corporation. NewGen Systems Corporation was a manufacturer of high end graphics printers for the pre press graphics marketplace. NewGen Systems is a division of PCPI (PC Peripherals Inc. (NASDAQ – ITEC)). He also founded Togai InfraLogic, which developed the world’s first fuzzy logic processor which received “Product of the Year” in 1990 from Electronic Products magazine.

Mr. Perkins holds several patents in semiconductors, systems and software and has two patents pending. He has also held senior management positions with ITT and Rockwell (where received Rockwell’s prestigious “Engineer of the Year Award”). Mr. Perkins holds an MBA with honors from Pepperdine University, a BSEE degree (Cum Laude), and a BA degree in Nuclear Chemistry from the University of California, Irvine.
